Much of the content on these sites is produced by Community Reporters.
Community Reporters are people who have got something to say, and enjoy saying it - real people, with real stories. If you've got access to a computer, you can be a Community Reporter. You can use words, pictures, audio or video - whatever you feel most comfortable with, it doesn't really matter. Likewise it doesn't really matter what you talk or write about (within reason! See our editorial policy) – it doesn't have to be 'news', as such, it can just be something you want people to know about.
If you're already doing something- perhaps you write a blog - you can become a Community Reporter without doing anything more than what you're doing at the moment. If you're based in Manchester, or doing things in Manchester, and have a blog or a website, why not link it up to our site via an RSS feed? You'll get thousands more people reading about the things that matter to you.
Being a Community Reporter means that you'll get access to free training and media equipment, such as video cameras and laptops, which you can then use to produce even more content, in even more imaginative ways! All we ask from you is that you produce something that we can link to on the site.
If you're new to all this stuff, but want to get involved, we can offer you training, starting with the basics of using a computer, to how to make and edit your own films.
For more background information on the programme go to People's Voice Media Community Reporters

Junko met Steven today, our new neighbour. Turns out her first encounter was possibly slightly misrepresentative as he was very accepting of our new border arrangements. In fact, he even seemed a bit apologetic that he may have been a little over-enthusiastic with his own original claim. Anyway, the issue...

The Twisted Wheel is, to use that over-used word, a legendary name in Manchester. It became famous in the 1960s as a place where people could hear and dance to 60s soul, later dubbed ‘Northern Soul’.
The original Twisted Wheel was located on Brazennose Street. Later in the...

After almost a one year hiatus, we are back at the allotment.
A new job in Sheffield and a some rather significant lifestyle changes have made it very difficult to find the time. But we’ve had a breakthrough.

I caught a feature during Tuesday’s The One Show about a pair of peregrine falcons nesting in the city centre with four chicks.
The birds are apparently the fastest in the world, reaching speeds of 200mph, and have a wingspan of over a metre - so perhaps not what...

Piccadilly Records‘ handy weekly mailer just informed me that everybody’s favourite vegan/Christian musician/DJ/producer/activist, Moby, is doing an acoustic set in Cup on Thomas Street this Thursday, 24 July.
It’s only a short one - 5pm until 5.30pm - and it precedes his proper show at Sankeys later that night, but...
