This page gives you information about how to add One-off and Regular Events to the Burnage4U website free of charge. If you would like to take a paid advertisement for your event please use the How to Advertise link above.
1. Click on Events
2. Click on Add an Event
3. Fill in the form as follows:
Event title: Type in the title of your event.
Start Date: Click in the box to select a date from the calendar.
Click on Today to select today's date. Click on the relevant date to select it
or if the event starts in the next or a subsequent month click on > and then click
on the relevant date.
Finish Date: Click in the box to select a date from the calendar.
You select the finish date from the calendar in the same way as you select the start
date.
Location: Type in where your event is taking place , e.g. Cringle
Fields Park or Green End. You can be as specific as you like.
Description: Type in a description of your event. This is your
chance to encourage as many people as possible to attend your event. Try to include a
description of what is happening and why (especially if it is an event for charity).
It is also helpful to be specific about where your event is taking place if you
haven't done so already in the Location section.
Cost: If your event has a cost, e.g. an entrance fee type it in
here. Please use the £ symbol.
Duration: Use this section to indicate how long your event lasts.
You can put in specific times (e.g. 10:00am-4:00pm) or be less precise (e.g. 2
days).
Postcode: Type in the postcode of the venue of your event. When it
is clicked on a map of the location of your event will be displayed.
4. When you are happy with the information you have entered click on submit. The next form will be displayed. This form allows you enter a variety of contact details so that people can get more information about your event.
5. Fill in the form as follows (all the sections are optional), but it is good
practice to make sure that you have included some way of people getting more
information about your event.
Contact details: Use this section to give a contact name or
organisation for your event.
Phone number: a phone number where people can get more information
about your event.
Alt number: an alternative phone number where people can get more
information about your event.
Fax number: a fax number that people can use to ask for more information about
your event.
Minicom number: - a minicom number that people can use to ask for more
information about your event.
Email address: an email address that people can use to get more information
about your event.
Web Address: a relevant website address (e.g. the website of the organisation
or a website dedicated to the event) You must put http:// before the www part of the
website address (e.g http://www.burnage4u.net).
6. When you are happy with all the contact details click on submit.
7. Your event will not be displayed immediately, but a notification will go to the site moderator so that it can be approved. Once your event has been approved it will be displayed on the site. If you have supplied an email address in your contact details you will receive an email confirming that the event has been approved and posted.
