Subject - Free home safety checks for older people

The measures are always agreed with the person concerned, and include an additional hand-rail on the stairs, grab-rails, tacking down of loose carpets etc.

Being aged 65 or over and being resident in Manchester are the only criteria.

We have some additional capacity at the moment and are keen to generate additional referrals. If you have any contacts who would benefit from this service please draw it to their attention or make a referral on their behalf. They (or you with their permission) can phone us on 0161 872 5500 between 9.00 and 4.00 on Monday to Friday and we will take details and ring
the older person back to make an appointment to suit them. We work with interpreters where required.
