Subject - Exodus Instrument Library - Donations Needed

Posted : (Monday 14th August 2006 ) By - Jane (Registered User)Exodus is a project based at Community Arts North West that offers support to refugee artists from around the world now living in Greater Manchester.

Refugee musicians who flee to the UK are forced to leave their instruments behind, and can’t afford to buy them here. They are very keen to continue with music in this country and share their music with Greater Manchester communities. However it is very difficult for them to develop their music groups without access to instruments and equipment.

Exodus would like to set up the Exodus Instrument Library- a collection of musical instruments that can be lent out to refugees and asylum seekers.

Can you donate an instrument?

Have you got any instruments or equipment that you no longer use? Don’t let them go to waste-we can find them a well appreciated home.

We are happy to receive donations of any instruments and music equipment, but in particular we need:

* Drums (conventional kit and hand drums-djembes, Darabukas etc)
* Guitars (acoustic, electric, bass)
* Keyboards
* Amplifiers
* PA systems/ microphones / stands
* Percussion
* String instruments (violins, violas etc)
* Any other instruments from Africa, Middle East or South Asia.
